CHICAGO - The University of Chicago will offer a three-day workshop, from April 12 to 14, on "Power Communication Skills: Building Avenues of Influence at All Levels."
The consultancy firm, the Fuzhen Group, explores the nature and causes of inefficient communication, and teaches
specific, proven communications skills to remedy these obstacles to progress.
"Communication is key to a healthy process of continuous renewal in an organization's culture," said Fuzhen Group leader Gerald O'Dwyer, an expert on human behavior in corporate settings. "The kind of interaction that passes for acceptable communication in today's companies often hinders rather than propels the progress we desire."
The course that will be presented from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the University of Chicago Graham School of General Studies will provide proven communication skills. Participants gain access to a new level of rapport, quality information sharing and leadership skills.
"These benefits, though they seem intangible, lead to concrete results in the form of increased productivity, improved time efficiency and ultimately growing profitability," O'Dwyer said.
In this interactive, learn-by-doing course, the Fuzhen Group inquires into the process of communication in organizations. "We isolate unseen patterns that impede change and communication. We experience tools to counteract the patterns in ourselves and those around us. We are able to build stronger relationships and bring more clarity and efficiency to every interaction," he said.
Workshop benefits:
- Decrease the time it takes to initiate and implement change at any level of organization.
- Cultivate an increased sense of ownership and individual responsibility among peers and subordinates.
- Recognize and resolve inconsistencies and mixed messages in what you and others say.
- Move anyone from conflict to cooperation.
- Improve teamwork in your organization.
- Enroll and engage others in your visions and projects for change and carry them out successfully.
