CHICAGO - The University of Chicago Graham School of Business and Leadership will present a seminar entitled "Leadership: Driving Change in Your Team, Department, and Organization" April 12 through 14, 2004.
The seminar will be led by Gerald O'Dwyer, partner and founder of the Chicago/San Francisco-based Fuzhen Group.
In recent years, a trend of emphasizing teamwork at all levels of management - particularly at senior levels - has swept across the corporate landscape. Fueled by globalization, the trend has made business increasingly complex, demanding higher-than traditional methods of training.
The University of Chicago recognizes that the "team leadership" concept must evolve to meet the challenge. A team fostering organization needs to operate in an environment of giving and gathering information at higher levels of efficiency and detail. Through this seminar, dilemmas are surfaced, employee accountability is encouraged and internal commitments to corporate goals are strengthened. Fact-based business decisions are the result.
Participants in the seminars at the University of Chicago receive extensive practice on how to obtain information from others in a way that enhances openness and reveals otherwise hidden problems and issues. Instruction in specific skills and mind sets encourages strategic behaviors aimed at encouraging honesty and open communication in business relationships.
