Sam has a rare and challenging condition, a complex underlying connective tissue disorder that is so unique it’s unnamed. Affecting many systems of his body without any obvious connections, it requires a team of specialists for ongoing care and treatment. This collaborative care has been drastically simplified by a new outpatient clinical center, built with help from CMN Hospitals funds, where Sam sees several specialists during one weekly appointment. This one appointment streamlines care and treatment for Sam and his family and increases communication and collaboration between specialists. Sam remains hopeful a cure will be found for some of the issues he’s dealing with, and at the very least, that he’ll be able to eat food without pain someday.
