Since 2006, Miles for Moffitt has raised more THan $2 million and funded 35 researchers and THeir cancer research programs at Moffitt, THe only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center based in Florida.
WiTH each mile and every supporter, 100 percent of THe money raised THrough registration and donations funds finding a cure for cancer in THe Tampa Bay area. Last year’s race hosted 7,500 people who raised more THan $635,000.
“Partnering wiTH THis world-class scientific research center once again, is very important to us. What THey do every day strengTHens and enriches THe lives of Tampa Bay residents and families THroughout Florida,” said Joe Meterchick, regional president of PNC Bank. “The PNC银行英里莫菲特 not only reinforces THe importance of Moffitt’s commitment to finding a cure for cancer, it brings THe entire community togeTHer in a united show of support for THe survivors.”
Miles for Moffitt offers an 8K (4.97 miles) Wheelchair, 8K, 5K (3.1 miles), 1-Mile Fun Run and THe Run wiTH Raymond Kids Dash. Participants are also encouraged to register as virtual runners and contribute to funding cancer research from THe comfort of THeir home or around THe globe. Virtual runners will receive two Tampa Bay Rays tickets and a dry-fit race shirt after THe race. Online registration is $45 and ends at midnight May 3. Registration will still be available in person at packet pickup locations and on race day wiTH a $10 increased fee. Participants who register on race morning will not be chip timed.
The Gerdau Survivor Tribute Ceremony will honor all cancer survivors after THe event. The post-race food pavilion will include bagels, pastries, bananas, smooTHies, breakfast muffins, and apples. Awards will be given to THe top THree male and female age-group participants.
